Memories.

Memories were precious to him. There were entire days he couldn't recall and he knew there would be days in the future that would slip away from him as well. He should have let go of everything and accepted that he would just forget and that he would lose everything precious to him in the end. Yet, there was a part of him that couldn't. It was too busy clinging to something that he never thought he'd have.

When he was younger he'd been told that there were angels watching over him. They would rescue him from the shadows. After the first attack, he'd given up hope on that. Either angels didn't exist or the angels no longer wanted him for one reason or another. Night after night and day after day, he would lose faith until one day he was sitting there bleeding in the corner of a prison cell, a smile on his lips. He was all alone now and always would be. No one wanted him. No one would ever want him.

He'd been wrong.

In this strange place of sin, a beautiful angel had found him and had even wanted him. Him. The one so unclean that there was no hope of God ever wanting him under his wing again. Even now when he though about him he could still picture wings, wings of light which he now stroked onto the canvas with a brush. Naturally he knew Al didn't think of himself as an angel but he supposed that was why he was so perfect as one. In his eyes, a true angel wouldn't want their position because they would feel unworthy of it. Yet they would still save the poor members of mankind suffering in shadows.

His father always told him there would be someone to save him no matter what. Now he felt his brush slip and fall from his grasp onto the floor as he covered his mouth with his hand. A tear slid down his cheek as he came to realize that maybe he really wasn't that worthless. If someone this good could love him then he couldn't be. There was still someone out there who wanted him and thought he was beautiful. Not just physically but every part of him. Taking in a shaky breath, he felt himself smiling even as he cried.

Al truly had no idea what he'd done for him. He'd saved him in so many ways. These days he actually felt as if there was hope in the world. He could actually live again.

“Valle, are you okay?” He opened his eyes to see him there, looking up at him with concern. Al really didn't know what he'd done for him. Smiling at him, he nodded his head then reached out to touch his face gently.

“Yes. I am.”

Al didn't seem to believe him but he didn't question and instead looked at the painting. He blinked after a moment then looked at him with a touch of confusion. “Wings? I'm not really an angel.”

Reaching down, he picked up his brush and set it down then took a deep breath. “I don't mind.”

He felt warm eyes wrap around him and he leaned into the embrace. It was so nice. No matter what he said, his lover would always be his angel. There was hope in his world now and he added the wings the rest of the way to his painting. Setting the brush down, he felt lips on his neck and shivered. Well, his angel would know all of his sensitive places. Especially when that hand moved between his legs. Letting out a soft moan, he looked back at him.

“Al...”

He saw that beautiful smile and then felt that squeeze. Whimpering softly, he pressed closer before he found himself flipped onto his stomach and his arms pinned behind him. The words Al spoke next sent a shiver down his spine.

“I think I promised to keep you pinned after you were done painting. Keep still.”

An angel of light, an angel of desire, an angel of saving grace...

Alphonse Elric was an angel of everything in Vallewida's world.
